FIRST QUARTER MINERAL MOON
The Moon usually isn't associated with colour, however the lunar surface actually has wide spectrum of hues that indicate the presence of different minerals. In this image, the colours have been subtly enhanced to show this. The blue hues, as seen in the Sea of Tranquility for example, indicate the presence of titanium. The orange and warmer hues indicate the presence of iron.
